The testimony behind the trumpet.

“What is that?” I exclaimed as I gazed down from the windswept cliffs of the Marin Headlands. Far below, the Pacific Ocean stretched endlessly beyond the Golden Gate Bridge, where a small but determined vessel caught my attention as it sped toward the open sea.

Curious, I asked a man standing nearby what I was seeing.

“That’s a Pilot Boat,” he explained. “It’s carrying a Bar Pilot out to meet an incoming freighter. The pilot will board the ship and guide it safely into San Francisco Bay.”

He went on to describe the hidden dangers beneath those beautiful waters. Though the bay appears calm, it is riddled with shallow channels, shifting sandbars, frequent blinding fog, and powerful currents capable of running even the largest container ship aground. The Bar Pilot possesses specialized knowledge of these treacherous waters and takes command during the final, most critical leg of the voyage, ensuring that the ship and its precious cargo arrive safely in port.

As he spoke, something ignited within me.

In an instant, a powerful picture filled my mind—one that would eventually shape the vision behind Trumpet Voice. I saw the striking parallel between the Bar Pilot’s calling and the assignment God had placed on my life.

Just as a Bar Pilot is entrusted with navigating massive vessels through fog and the most dangerous waters at the end of their journey, God is raising voices to help guide His Church through the perilous days that lie ahead. The Church carries infinitely precious cargo, that being its people, and the waters before us are unlike any we have known.

The birth pains Jesus foretold are increasing. They will culminate in the Great Tribulation—the darkest and most turbulent seas the Church will ever face before Christ's return. More than ever, God's people will need discernment, wisdom, and faithful guidance to navigate the final stretch of the journey and arrive safely in our eternal home port.

That moment overlooking the Golden Gate was far more than an interesting lesson about maritime navigation. It was a defining revelation—a living parable that gave clarity to my calling and direction to the ministry that would become Trumpet Voice.

The Lord planted within me a deep and abiding hunger to understand biblical prophecy from an early age. I came to see prophecy not as a collection of mysterious predictions, but as living truth—God's revelation that explains today's headlines while preparing His people for tomorrow's realities. What began as a personal pursuit of Scripture gradually became a calling: to teach, to warn, and to equip the Body of Christ.

More than twenty years ago, a church I attended in California asked me to teach a course on biblical apologetics. As we considered possible topics, Islam emerged as the clear focus. Looking back, I can see the Lord's hand at work. During that same season, I was writing for WorldNetDaily, where another contributor was also publishing thought-provoking articles. His name was Joel Richardson.

Joel's research and biblical insights helped sharpen my own understanding of the prophetic significance of Islam, and my particularly look at Turkey's pivotal adversarial role in events to unfold. Later on I met a man who would become a very close friend and scholarly resource in Dr. Brent Joseph. God used these providential intersections to bring greater clarity to the path He had already begun laying down.

Over the years, the Lord has allowed me to experience opportunities I never could have imagined. I have shared meals with a former President of the United States and a former Prime Minister of Great Britain. Visited the Pergamon Museum in Berlin and a once in an era exhibit on Babylon during the time of Daniel at the British Museum in London. Practically living out of my car and meeting with pastors to share the Israel and Mideast centrality of biblical prophecy. All the while blessed to be invited to teach in a variety of settings.

Yet those moments are not what define my ministry.

The conversations that have left the deepest mark have taken place over a cup of coffee with men needing a friend, God's word, and to hear about my own sins and Christ's forgiveness. It has been in those moments—sharing my own failures and urging men not to repeat the mistakes I made that I have witnessed the transforming power of God most clearly.

God has taught me that our greatest platform is often our failures surrendered to Him and redeemed, to empower others.

As Paul declared, Christ's power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12). Whatever effectiveness the Lord has granted me in teaching biblical prophecy does not flow from knowledge alone, but from His grace working through a heart that has been broken, humbled, and restored. Truth proclaimed in the power of the Holy Spirit carries a weight that mere information never can.

The namesake of this ministry comes from the book-audiobook God allowed me to produce entitled, "Voice like a Trumpet". I pray many will feel led to listen to the audiobook, available freely on this website, and take in the words of Jesus Christ for us derived from Revelation Chapters 1-3. May the Lord continue to search my heart in loving correction and encouragement to follow him based on the message to the seven churches.

Now, after more than two decades of studying and teaching biblical prophecy, I continue to watch the Lord bring many of those teachings into remarkable focus. At the same time, I readily acknowledge that no one possesses perfect understanding. We must remain humble students of God's Word—testing every teaching, searching the Scriptures, and depending upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit rather than our own conclusions.

My prayer is that Trumpet Voice will do more than simply inform. I pray it will awaken God's people, strengthen their faith, deepen their discernment, and ignite them to faithfully use their spiritual gifts within the Body of Christ while boldly proclaiming the gospel to those who have yet to know Jesus. The Golden Gate appearing heralds to the ships that the safe harbor approaches. Take heart Christians, The King of the Jews, Jesus Christ, will also come through a Golden Gate, the one in Jerusalem, to redeem Israel and reign with his saints on earth.

The voyage is nearing its end.
